This weekend, President Obama returned
to his father's homeland of Kenya for a multi-day trip packed with
speeches, public appearances and diplomatic meetings. Accompanied by two
dozen legislators and 200 American investors attending the Global
Entrepreneurship Summit, Obama's visit to Kenya is a historic first for
his presidency and a continuation of his relationship with the country
that began with his first trip there some 30 years ago.
Here's what the president has been up to during his visit,
which will continue into the next week in other African nations such as
Ethiopia.
1. Crowds of cheering Kenyans greeted the president at the airport during his arrival.
2. The president met with his Kenyan counterpart, President Uhuru
Kenyatta, for a bilateral meeting at the State House, his residence.
3. He also laid a wreath at a memorial to 1998 embassy bombings in
two East African cities (including Nairobi, Kenya) that killed hundreds
of people.
4. The president also gave a speech at the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit at the United Nations Compound in Nairobi.
5. Obama toured a festival finding ways to power Africa's growing cities and economies.
6. Some Kenyans presented homemade gifts and displays of goodwill for the president during his trip.
7. POTUS also made time to visit his extended family, many of whom haven't seen him in a long time.

US President Barack Obama, is currently visiting Kenya – his ancestral home and the country of his father’s birth.
Obama arrived in Kenya yesterday, and as expected, Kenyans are overjoyed, and so is Barack.
Speaking on his visit, the president said, “I am proud to be the first U.S. president to visit Kenya. Obviously, it is personal for me. It’s the reason why my name is Barack Hussein Obama. My father came from these parts, I have family and relatives here….”It is wonderful to be back in Kenya.” He stated this on Saturday morning, as he opened the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, USA Today reports.
Here are some photos from his trip thus far:

I’m
sorry, but when did Obama become Kenyan? Or better still I should ask,
when did Kenya become his HOME? chai! Africans like to claim things too
much. He may have ancestry linkage to Kenya but it is not and has never
been his home, so, leave man rest.
SOOO?
He me mean the father he didn’t meet until well into his life? He is
AMERICAN! Raised by his White American mother, and her White American
parents, in hawaii which also happens to be American soil. Oya, if you
want, go drink poison, since it’s paining you so much. Rubbish!
You
can say he’s Kenyan all you like and have a heart attack over it, but
what he calls himself (Rachel Dolezal has ruined ‘identifies as’ for me)
is what matters. He will call himself American first and American
alone. The decisions he makes will be to the benefit of America first
and then any other country will follow depending on how they benefit
America. We need to stop this nonsense and focus on things that benefit
us as a continent. This one is by force Nigerian, that one is by force
Kenyan. They’ll handle it diplomatically to be polite, but they’re
probably hiding a patronizing little chuckle inside.
His
Kenyan father may have donated sperm, but Obama has no ties to Kenya
what so ever, not the culture, customs, food, languages. He was raised
in AMERICA, by his WHITE AMERICAN MOTHER, and her WHITE AMERICAN
Parents. Hence, he is American. It takes more than just DNA to be part
of a people, dummy. And Kenya is MOST DEFINITELY NOT HIS “HOME!”
Rubbish!
@eyong I don’t agree with you! Where have you been? He is Kenyan as well as American!
He has and is entitled to ALL the privileges of a Kenyan!
Call it dual citizenship,we belong to both our father and our mother.
In this case he belongs also to Kenya the ancestral home of his father!
But
him no get dual citizenship, his is simply AMERICAN. Infact, apart from
his father donating sperm, there is NOTHING that ties him to Kenya, not
the food, not the culture, not the customs, not the languages. Nothing.
So, no, he is not Kenyan. He is America. Mtcheeew.
If you read his autobiography [Dreams from my father], HE HIMSELF referred to Kenya as “HOME SQUARED” i.e. home home for real***
He wrote: “I AM A LUO MAN”. Luo is his father’s tribe in Kenya.
AFRICANS PERISH FOR lack of knowledge… always talking nonsense!
Why
is Obama’s half-sister news? Why are they interviewing her? Parading
pictures of the two of them hugging? I’m sure he’s not the first
President to have siblings. Move on.
Its
news becoz..when Obama went to Kenya 28yrs ago….his sister picked him
up in a Volkswagen Beetle. 28yrs later, Obama is back and she rode with
him in “The Beast”
Why didn’t YOU move on since it was bothering you so much?
It’s amazing how petty a lot of you are. What on earth is there to criticise in these pictures?

Let me help you dear… ”As far as I am concerned, his home is in America. By the way, did he visit his main home?”
Tenses and punctuations are your friends!
Awww…so nice!!
Putin should check well naaw. I have this strong conviction that he is a Nigerian. Can’t wait to give him a grand arrival.
Oh..I love you Putin!!
Some
people are so pained sha. Why beef his half-sister when you can’t help
it. I bet if you were Obama’s half-sister you would have flooded all
social media with both relevant and irrelevant pictures. Please stop the
hate and let the babe be!
It
is only in africa you see a table set at the airport for visitors to
sign “whatever” documents – as Obama did, He is free to chose what
country he comes from whether Kenya or America – If he does not claim
Kenya – let it be! This is 2015, stop being the irrelevant mouthpiece on
his behalf
Ooh
yes!!! Only in Kenya visitors sign that book. if I may ask, what is
wrong with that? Kenya is different and does not need mimic what other
countries do or dont. It’s no longer about Obama but book signing? How
petty, style up.
Kkkkkkk….
Ayas… Seriously u guyz argue if or not he is Kenyan??? Whats the use of
Mr Google then…. I am from South Africa but its a none disputable fact
that Obama is Kenyan by birth and the father is Kenyan too. Why should
we be jealousy over this i beg. Deal with it people! Blood remains
thicker than water and his roots and origin will forever remain in
Kenya. Why say Kenyan’s like claiming things brother? Which planet of
the earth do u reside on that u find it as News. Listen to his own
video speech on youtube he mentions from his own mouth that he is
originally from Kenya. Ofcoz he got the opportunity to be entitled to
dual citenship but his roots can not be erased.
It’s
so cute seeing how Nigerians are mad that Obama is Kenyan. Same way
ya’ll were mad when Lupita won an Oscar and Chiwete didn’t. So cute.
LOOOOOOOL.
@eyong…I
hardly post on blogs…but your views here are sickening. What do you
mean by “donating sperm”? Are you serious? Is this how distorted we are
now in our thinking? Our western perspective and interpretation of
issues is what has placed us in the back seat. Marriage is seen as a
contract of convenience. Despicable reasonings now thrive cuz freedom is
available for purchase over the counter. At the slightest thing, you
hear the words like freedom and rights”. My advice to you is this; come
to Africa and tell your “Papa” that he only dOnated sperm to your mother
just so she can have you. Am nt sure you are married, if yes, try
telling your partner, having a child with him or her is a contract of
sperm donation. Tell him or her, Even with the donation, the donor does
not have a right over the fruit of his donation . Well, this is Africa,
Nigeria for that matter, whether “donation” is done within acceptable
terms or not, we Africans like to have a right over the fruit of our
donation. That’s why fatherhood is hinged on “donation” in this part of
the world. Am ashamed for you really. Think again, even that process of
donation no be beans.
That’s
your business. And no, I won’t tell my father he donated sperm because
he actually RAISED me. you idiot. That’s what it means to be a dad, to
be present in your child’s life, to teach them, and nurture them, not to
have unprotected sex, impregnate and disappear. Maybe if you took your
brain out of your buttocks you will understand that is what I was saying
in very clear terms. He is Kenyan by blood yes, but he is not a Kenyan
nationale, so saying kenya is his “home” is just Africans trying to
claim what isn’t theirs as usual! Now go and drink Tylenol for that
headache my comment seems to have given you. Rubbish,
I AM A BLACK AMERIKKKAN WHO 32 YEARS AGO WENT BACK TO AFRICA/YORUBALAND/NIGERIA TO RAISE 4 OF MY 5 CHILDREN AS CULTURALLY BASED YORUBA CHILDREN WITH THE LANGUAGE AS THEIR MOTHER TONGUE.
