HAIR OO!--BLACK WOOLLY HAIR OOO!--MENELIK CHARLES (with HAIR PORT aNd 2 others)--WRITES ON BLACK WOMENS NATURAL HAIR--FROM FACEBOOK

Bad hair days....

In recent decades Black women have seen their most obvious characteristics celebrated on the faces and bodies of white women. The irony of the mistresses of the 'master race' masking themselves in the characteristics and color of those of a formerly enslaved race is not lost on the latter....

Far from it.

Indeed, no race of females have had their racial characteristics appropriated to the extent that Black women have...and by white females more so than any other female group.

Again, this fact is not lost on Black women.

However, in their tortured journey towards sustainable levels of self-esteem, their remains a painful sticking point: Black women's hair. So much can be written about how they feel about their hair...how they negate it...hate it...forsake it...or eventually come to embrace it.

But one fact remains true regardless: a woman's hair is her crowning glory... therefore, every woman wears upon her head a symbolic 'crown'.

And the hair that sits atop the heads of many Black women, are often 'crowns' so alluring and awe-aspiring in their design, that it's a wonder why they desire to wear the 'crowns' of their Caucasian sisters.

Yeah...Black women's natural hair is 'bad' alright...super bad!
